Bourbon Whiskey is famous the world over. The USA is full of whiskey distilleries, but if you want to try the true taste of America then you have to come to Kentucky. That’s where Bourbon is made.
At Grand Avenue, we have teamed up with some of the best and most famous distilleries in the area to create A Taste of The Whiskey Trail Tour.
You will be chauffeur-driven to two or three of your choice distilleries in some of the most luxurious vehicles available. Here are the local distilleries you can choose from:
Jim Beam is famous all over the world. It’s just one of those brands that perfectly encapsulates America. This special tour lets you walk in the footsteps of seven generations of Jim Beam master distillers. You get to experience every step of the process and even bottle up your own personal Jim Beam bottle.
Maker’s Mark is another famous brand and beautiful whiskey to come out of Kentucky. This more informal tour lets you see the distillery in full swing. It’s a working distillery, so you will actually witness the distilling process.
Wild Turkey has been making whiskey since before prohibition. Their Master Distiller, Jimmy Russell is the longest-serving whiskey distiller in the world. That’s got to count for something.
The Wild Turkey Visitor Centre has won several awards for its architectural prowess. This is one of the best whiskey distilleries in the world and is not to be missed on your tour.
Woodford Reserve has really put some thought into their distillery tour. While a lot of tours focus solely on their product, Woodford reserve give you a history of Bourbon Whisky to gives you some context. They call it a guided education, so if you really want to learn something on your tour Woodford Reserve is one for you.
Four Roses Distillery
The Four Roses Distillery really sticks out in Kentucky because of its Spanish architecture. Built in 1910, this is one of the most interesting tours out there. Perfect if you are looking for something slightly different.
Evan Williams – Heaven Hill Distilleries
They’ve been making Evan Williams Bourbon Whiskey since 1783. In that time, it’s become one of the best-selling whiskey brands in the world. Visit the famous distillery in Louisville for a taste of the past.
Bourbon Town Branch
One of the lesser-known brands on the list, but still one of the best. Visit Bourbon Town Branch if you want to experience a smaller distillery experience.
We recommend that you choose two or three distilleries in proximity to each other. This will give you more time for each tour and most importantly, more time tasting the whiskey!
