Wow. Tennessean reported today that our beloved volunteer state is the 14th most stressed out state in the nation!
Go read the article. See if just reading about doesn’t stress you about a little bit.
The article talks about what stresses people out. Unemployment, tornados, floods, even autism. I agree those things are so stressful. But you know what? It doesn’t talk about traffic at all.
See, I’m from D.C. We have some of the worst traffic in the country. When I moved to Nashville four years ago, I thought the traffic was just adorable here – nothing like gridlock in D.C. Driving around, I was relaxed all of the time because I never had to fight to the death to get to and from work or even to the grocery store. But things have changed around here, haven’t they?
God help you if you’re trying to get anywhere during a sporting event. And good luck with parking.
So imagine this: Let’s say you got yelled at by your boss for no reason, your child got sick and threw up on his camp counselor, and it’s pouring down rain. All of this happens on the day that you’ve got tickets at Bridgestone Arena to go see Britney Spears. An event, by the way that you’ve been planning for months and it was supposed to be fun. Think it’s going to be now?
Talk about adding a layer of stress to your day that you just didn’t need.
Sometimes, you just need to simplify… let us take away some of that stress and do the driving for you.
