Fall is on its way. And for us hunters, that means deer season is right is around the corner! The opening day of deer season this year is September 24th. Until then, my compadres and I will be tuning our bows, spending countless hours at the range, and preparing to harvest a deer or two for the season.
Deer hunting gives me a chance to reconnect with friends and Mother Nature. There is no feeling in the world like the one a hunter experiences as he settles into his deer stand. There is something to be said about watching a sunrise and witnessing nature as she begins to wake. It makes me feel closer to God. Even if I never see a deer, I am still blessed with experiencing all of God’s creations in our beautiful Tennessee woods. Now, that’s not to say seeing a big mature buck wouldn’t be a plus (icing on the cake some folks would say)!
The Land and Wildlife Expo 2011 going on this weekend at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee provides several classes on deer and the great outdoors. I recommend attending this Expo. Go to www.landandwildlifeexpo.com for all the details.
I am anxiously waiting deer season! Until then, I will get back to work and save up my vacation hours!Tags: Carl Haley, CEO, Grand Avenue, Hunting, Wildlife
